Job Description

Our client is a global marine and transit claims consultancy with more than 200 employees across 3 continents, specializing in tailored services, in-house designed IT solutions and transparent data analytics to tackle insurance claims issues quickly and cost-effectively for clients.

They are currently looking for an IT Support Engineer who will be primarily responsible for ensuring smooth IT services and operations in their Singapore office. The role covers a broad range of responsibilities, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing IT security, maintaining local IT infrastructure and supporting business-critical applications.

Being the only IT representative based in Singapore, the right candidate has to be a self-motivated individual who can work independently while delivering excellent customer service and alignment with the UK IT team.

Responsibilities

1. Desktop and End-User Support

  • Provide support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, business applications, network and end-user devices (laptops, mobile phones, etc), working with third party vendors when required.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory and identity management systems.
  • Contribute to process improvements and guide end-users on corporate procedures, IT best practices and new technologies.

2. Infrastructure Support

  • Work with global IT teams on the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of local IT infrastructure and networks.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate global teams as necessary and provide on-site support through issue resolution.

3. Compliance and Audit

  • Ensure adherence to corporate IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, configurations and support activities.
  • Respond to audit requests and address any gaps in compliance.

4. Collaboration and Communication

  • Be the main IT point of contact between overseas IT teams and the Singapore office, ensuring alignment with global IT initiatives and coordinating update/support efforts.
  • Train and guide end-users on IT best practices and new technologies.


Requirements

  • Proven experience in IT support including desktop, infrastructure and application support.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365 and Active Directory.
  • Basic understanding of IT security practices and networking concepts (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, switches and routers).
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizing, multi-tasking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Flexibility to work occasionally outside regular working hours.
  • Have a warm, well-spoken and service-orientated personality.


Qualifications

  • Open to Singaporeans only.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an IT support role for a global organization or remote teams.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator are a plus.
