- Implement and maintain security protocols on the Laboratory Information System (LIS) servers to protect against vulnerabilities and unauthorized access.
- Lead on-site installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of specialized healthcare software. Must perform software interfacing and continuous preventive maintenance.
- Perform regular security patches, disable unnecessary services, and configure firewalls to ensure the LIS environment meets global healthcare cybersecurity standards.
- Manage user permissions and authentication protocols to ensure data privacy and integrity.
- Configure and ensure seamless connectivity between laboratory instruments (e.g., analyzers) and the LIS.
- Utilize HL7 and ASTM protocols to ensure accurate data transmission from medical hardware to the central database.
- Resolve connectivity drops and data mapping errors between the LIS and various clinical diagnostic tools across the regional network.
- Develop and run custom scripts (e.g., Python, SQL, or VBA) to automate data extraction, report generation, and routine system health checks.
- Use code to streamline laboratory workflows, reducing manual data entry and minimizing human error in result reporting.
- Ensure all technical activities follow strict Healthcare Information Security policies (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, or local MOH guidelines).
- Conduct comprehensive end-user and administrator training; resolve recurring issues to guarantee high customer satisfaction.
skills and experience required
Must have at least 2 solid years of experience in IT implementation, preferably within the Medical Industries.
Deep familiarity with Microsoft OS, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), and laboratory middleware.
