JOB OBJECTIVE
Thales DIS delivers cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions to regional clients, with a strong emphasis on protecting critical infrastructure. As part of our strategic growth to expand regional operations and harness global expertise, we are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to drive the design, integration, and deployment of advanced IT and OT security solutions across complex, mission critical systems.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on cybersecurity professional with a strong technical background and a passion for solving complex security challenges. They will bring deep experience implementing and hardening diverse cybersecurity technologies spanning network, endpoint, identity, and industrial control environments while ensuring compliance with international standards and best practices.
This role offers the opportunity to secure critical infrastructure systems from the ground up, modernise legacy environments, and contribute to the delivery of resilient, high-assurance solutions in some of the most demanding operational contexts.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Define and implement end to end cybersecurity solution strategies aligned with customer and project requirements.
- Collaborate with cross functional engineering teams to integrate and validate IT and OT cybersecurity capabilities into new and existing platforms.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for customer cybersecurity matters, managing risks, partners, and subcontractors throughout project delivery.
- Design, develop, and implement secure system architectures, components, and interfaces, ensuring compliance with international security standards and lifecycle support requirements.
- Conduct security architecture reviews, risk assessments, and gap analyses to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in complex system environments.
- Evaluate, select, and integrate commercial off the shelf cybersecurity products, ensuring alignment with validation and certification requirements.
- Develop detailed technical documentation, test procedures, and implementation guidelines to support secure deployment and operations.
- Utilise modelling, simulation, and performance analysis to optimise security design under diverse operational conditions.
- Support system testing, validation, and continuous improvement to maintain robust security and resilience in mission-critical environments.
Work Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity or security engineering, preferably within critical infrastructure sectors such as Aviation, Defence, Government, or Transportation.
- Proven ability to design, integrate, and secure complex systems, including legacy environments and industrial control systems.
- Strong knowledge of network security architecture, risk management, and secure system design principles, with practical experience in implementing defence in depth and secure configuration management.
- Familiarity with global and regional cybersecurity regulations, standards, and compliance frameworks (e.g. ISO, NIST), and supply chain risk management best practices.
- Experience in cyber threat analysis, vulnerability management, and incident response across hybrid environments.
- Proficiency in identity and access management, encryption technologies, and secure software development methodologies (Agile, DevSecOps, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal teams, customers, and vendors to resolve complex technical challenges independently.
- Excellent communication and consulting skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable business insights.
Qualification, Certification & Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Professional Certifications (or equivalent)
- Core Security Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or CySA+.
- Technical / Engineering Certifications: GICSP, GCIA, GCIH, GCED, CEH, or CCSP.
- Network and Perimeter Security: Cisco CCNP/CCIE or equivalent vendor certifications.
- Architecture and Governance: NIST 2.0, ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer / Lead Auditor.
- Sector-Specific Standards: ISA/IEC 62443,
Additional Requirements
- Proven experience in contributing to secure system design, risk management, and vulnerability assessment.
- Familiarity with security evaluation, validation, and certification processes for industrial or defence-grade systems.
- Eligibility for security clearance may be required for projects involving sensitive or classified environments.
