The IT PMO Analyst supports the Project Management Office (PMO) by providing analytical, reporting, and coordination services to ensure successful delivery of IT projects. This role involves tracking project performance, maintaining project documentation, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and supporting project governance and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, monitoring, and reporting of IT projects to ensure alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
- Collect, analyze, and report project data including status updates, risks, issues, and resource utilization to provide visibility to project managers and senior leadership.
- Maintain and update project management tools, dashboards, and documentation to ensure accuracy and accessibility of project information.
- Support the development and enforcement of PMO standards, methodologies, and best practices across IT projects.
- Coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, document minutes, and follow up on action items to facilitate effective communication and decision-making.
- Identify process improvement opportunities within the PMO and assist in implementing changes to enhance project delivery efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, business units, and external vendors to support project execution and resolve issues.
- Assist in resource capacity planning and tracking to optimize allocation and utilization across projects.
- Support risk and issue management processes by tracking, escalating, and facilitating resolution.
- Prepare presentations and reports for PMO leadership and stakeholders to communicate project progress and challenges.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in project management support, PMO analysis, or related roles within IT environments.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Table, VBA etc).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and technology concepts is a plus.
