Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Operations Engineer to be a key player in maintaining and optimizing our core IT infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, monitoring, and advanced troubleshooting of our network, backup, and security systems. The ideal candidate has a solid foundational knowledge of networking concepts and possesses good, hands-on experience with CommVault backup solutions and Sangfor security appliances.
Key Responsibilities
A.Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) & Server Management:
- Provide operational support and perform daily health checks for the company's hyper-converged infrastructure (e.g., Sangfor HCI)
- Provision, monitor, and manage virtual machines (VMs) within the HCI environment.
- Troubleshoot performance and connectivity issues related to compute, storage, and virtualization layers.
- Assist in capacity planning and performance tuning of the HCI platform.
- Lifecycle management tasks such as patching and upgrades.
B.Network & Telephony Management:
- Provide Level 2 support for LAN/WAN infrastructure, including troubleshooting connectivity, performance, and configuration issues.
- Perform basic configuration and maintenance of network switches, routers, and wireless access points.
- Support and administer the company's Phone PBX system and unattended recording. Updating of public holidays in the system calendar.
- Assist in monitoring network performance and ensuring system availability and reliability.
C.Backup & Recovery Operations:
- Take primary ownership of the CommVault backup environment.
- Perform daily monitoring of backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure successful completion of all backup cycles.
- Execute and validate data restores for files, applications, and entire systems as required.
- Assist in developing and testing disaster recovery procedures.
D.Security & Firewall Administration:
- Manage and monitor the Sangfor Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) and Stealth Threat Analytics solutions.
- Implement and manage firewall policies, NAT rules, and VPN configurations (SSL & IPsec).
- Monitor security alerts, analyze threats, and respond to incidents in accordance with security policies.
- Perform regular reviews of firewall rules and access logs.
E.General Operations:
- Document all procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps in the IT knowledge base.
- Handle Onboarding and Offboarding IT process which includes user moves, adds, changes (MACs).
- Collaborate with vendors on major projects and upgrades.
- Work with Admin team to liase with contractors / electrician on office electrical equipments.
- Prepare weekly report, execute and implement other tasks assigned by IT Team in China.
Qualifications:
- Fluent English and Mandarin speaker is a must to cope our business needs for our IT Team in China & local office in Singapore.
- Diploma or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in IT operations and maintenance management, with strong troubleshooting skills and a good understanding of network security.
- Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting devices such as Sangfor, with basic firewall configuration knowledge and solid fault diagnosis and resolution skills.
- Experienced in computer system installation, driver setup, and software installation.
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, etc.) and routing protocols (Static Routing, RIP, OSPF, BGP, etc.) will be a bonus.
- Familiar with basic switch configuration (Cisco, Huawei), including VLAN, static routing, and gateway setup.
