The ideal candidate is proactive, accountable, and capable of both strategic thinking and deep technical execution, ensuring our systems are reliable, secure, and continuously improving to support a modern, high performance legal practice.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Ownership of IT

  • Maintain clear documentation, system architecture, and operational discipline.
  • Manage and coordinate external vendors as needed.

2. Hands-On Technical Support & Operations

  • Provide support across hardware, software, networks, and day to day user issues.
  • Manage and maintain core systems, including:
  • Document Management Systems (DMS)
  • Practice management and billing tools
  • Microsoft 365 and collaboration platforms
  • Litigation and legal tech systems
  • Handle IT onboarding/offboarding, device provisioning, and access control.
  • Oversee IT inventory, asset tracking, and the full equipment lifecycle.

3. Cybersecurity & Data Protection

  • Own and strengthen the firm's overall cybersecurity posture.
  • Implement and maintain:
  • Endpoint protection
  • Access and identity management
  • Backup and recovery systems
  • Conduct regular vulnerability reviews and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all systems meet confidentiality and data protection standards required in legal practice.

4. Systems Improvement, Automation & AI Integration

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across IT operations.
  • Implement workflow automation, system integrations, and digital process enhancements.
  • Introduce and support practical, business ready AI tools where appropriate.
  • Reduce manual work and improve operational visibility, efficiency, and user experience.

5. Proactive IT Strategy & Roadmap Planning

  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and risks, and implement solutions proactively.

What You Bring

  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2-8+ years of relevant IT experience (role seniority will match experience).
  • Strong hands-on skills in:
  • Windows environments
  • Microsoft 365 administration
  • Networking and infrastructure
  • System administration and troubleshooting (Level 3 capability is advantageous)
  • Experience with DMS, practice management systems, or legal tech is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity fundamentals
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate clearly with non technical users.
  • High accountability, strong curiosity, and a proactive mindset.
