1. Role Purpose
The Infrastructure Operations Lead is the functional leader and senior hands-on technical authority accountable for the Infrastructure Operations across International O&M. The role owns its direction, operating model, governance, reliability outcomes and capability development across global production environments.
The successful candidate will establish a scalable, standardised and sustainable infrastructure capability, represent infra ops in technical and management discussions, and remain hands-on for critical decisions, major incidents and complex infrastructure challenges.
2. Core Responsibilities
2.1 Infrastructure Operations Accountability
- Own the end-to-end Infrastructure Operations capability, including its service boundaries, ownership model, operating standards, governance and roadmap.
- Act as the accountable technical authority for infrastructure decisions in architecture, delivery, security, risk and management forums.
- Establish a scalable operating model across internal teams, regional teams and service partners, with clear accountability and measurable outcomes.
2.2 Infrastructure Strategy, Architecture & Lifecycle Governance
- Define and govern infrastructure architecture, deployment patterns, lifecycle roadmaps and modernisation priorities across virtualised, cloud and customer-hosted environments.
- Ensure platforms are supportable, secure, resilient and sustainable, covering cloud, compute, operating systems, images, networks and shared infrastructure services.
- Drive standardisation and technical-debt reduction while balancing reliability, regional constraints, scalability and cost.
2.3 Reliability, Resilience & Operational Risk
- Own infrastructure reliability, availability, capacity, disaster recovery and operational readiness.
- Lead major infrastructure incidents and cross-domain diagnosis, then drive root-cause and systemic remediation to sustained closure.
- Identify material infrastructure risks early and provide evidence, options, recommendations, accountable ownership and target closure.
2.4 Engineering Governance & Automation
- Establish infrastructure engineering standards, configuration baselines, change controls and operational validation requirements.
- Drive infrastructure-as-code, automation, version-controlled configuration and repeatable operational patterns.
- Ensure infrastructure activities are controlled, auditable, measurable and progressively less dependent on manual effort
2.5 Capability Development & Technical Leadership
- Build organisational infrastructure capability through coaching, technical reviews, reusable standards and knowledge transfer.
- Convert fragmented or person-dependent practices into sustainable team-owned capability and clear support boundaries.
- Influence Product Engineering, Cyber Security, Project Delivery, regional operations and vendors through technical credibility and constructive challenge.
3. Expected Outcomes
- Establish a clear, scalable and measurable Infrastructure Operations operating model.
- Improve infrastructure reliability, resilience, lifecycle health and operational readiness.
- Reduce operational risk and manual dependency through governance, standards and automation.
- Build sustainable organisational capability across teams, regions and service partners.
- Provide leadership visibility of infrastructure health, risk, technical debt and improvement progress.
4. Required Qualifications
Experience
- 10+ years in production infrastructure engineering, platform engineering or infrastructure operations, with demonstrated ownership of business-critical environments.
- Proven experience leading an infrastructure domain, function or technical capability across complex or multi-region environments.
- Experience defining infrastructure standards, governance frameworks, operating models and lifecycle roadmaps.
- Experience with incident management and infrastructure transformation.
- Evidence of building reusable capability rather than only resolving individual technical tasks.
Technical Knowledge**
- Strong practical experience in public-cloud and virtualised infrastructure, including at least one of Azure, AWS or GCP.
- Solid foundations across operating systems, infrastructure networking, resilience, security controls and lifecycle management.
- Hands-on automation using scripting, infrastructure-as-code or configuration-management tooling.
- Ability to assess infrastructure architecture, deployment supportability, operational risk and production readiness.
Professional Capability
- End-to-end ownership, disciplined follow-through and sound technical judgement under ambiguity and pressure.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and vendors without relying on direct line authority.
- Clear executive and technical communication in English; Chinese capability is advantageous for cross-region collaboration.
5. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating global or multi-region SaaS and mission-critical customer platforms.
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Bash, Git-based workflows or equivalent tooling.
- Experience with enterprise network, PKI, certificate, DNS, firewall, WAF, observability or cloud image-management capabilities
