Job Summary
We are representing a client seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer (L2/L3) to support and manage enterprise infrastructure environments across on-premise and cloud platforms. This role ensures system stability, performance, and security while supporting projects and troubleshooting complex issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 support for IT infrastructure including servers, virtualization platforms, networks, cloud platforms, and endpoint systems to maintain operational continuity.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure high uptime and reliability of IT services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues by performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent fixes.
- Manage incident, problem, and change requests following ITSM processes and meeting SLA requirements.
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related services to ensure system integrity.
- Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V, and oversee storage environments for optimal resource utilization.
- Support cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure, AWS) by provisioning, configuring, and monitoring cloud resources.
- Perform patching, system upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery activities to safeguard data and system availability.
- Support network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, VPNs, and troubleshoot connectivity issues to maintain secure communications.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining security controls, endpoint protection, and access management to protect IT assets.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents in collaboration with cybersecurity teams to mitigate risks.
- Support infrastructure-related projects including cloud migration, system upgrades, network enhancements, and data center initiatives.
- Collaborate with application, data, and service delivery teams to ensure infrastructure readiness for system deployments and ERP transformation.
- Assist in planning, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support for infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to resolve issues, maintain systems, and deliver projects on schedule.
- Liaise with internal teams to align infrastructure solutions with application and business requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation including system configurations, runbooks, network diagrams, and SOPs for operational consistency.
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance, automate processes, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Support knowledge sharing and mentor junior engineers to build team capability and expertise.
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3-6 years of experience in IT infrastructure support at L2/L3 level.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Experience supporting cloud environments including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or equivalent.
- Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and firewalls.
- Experience with backup solutions, disaster recovery, and system monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with ITSM processes including incident, problem, and change management.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve complex technical issues.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience working in hybrid cloud environments and participating in cloud migration projects.
- Exposure to cybersecurity tools and practices such as endpoint protection and SIEM.
- Scripting or automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience supporting ERP or enterprise application environments.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, AWS, VMware, Cisco, or ITIL.
