We are looking for a proactive and resourceful IT Field Support Engineer to join our technical team. In this role, you will be the face of the company, providing critical on-site and remote technical assistance to our diverse SME client base. You will handle everything from hardware deployment and server maintenance to complex network troubleshooting, ensuring minimal downtime for our clients business operations.
On-Site & Remote Support: Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for hardware (desktops, laptops, printers) and software issues.
Infrastructure Management: Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of server systems, focusing on Windows Server environments and Synology NAS solutions.
Network Administration: Deploy and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including FortiGate firewalls, managed switches, and Access Points.
Cloud & Productivity: Manage and administrate Microsoft 365 tenants, including user licensing, Exchange Online, and SharePoint/OneDrive permissions.
Security & Compliance: Implement security patches, manage anti-virus deployments, and assist in recovering systems from security incidents or malware.
Documentation: Maintain accurate site audit logs, technical documentation, and inventory records for all client assets.
Project Assistance: Support senior engineers in larger infrastructure refresh projects, data migrations, and office relocations.
Requirements (Skills & Qualifications)
Education: ITE Higher Nitec, Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a field support or systems integrator (SI) role.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong knowledge of Windows OS and Windows Server (2016/2019/2022).
Hands-on experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs) and VPN (IPSec/SSL) configuration.
Familiarity with backup solutions and RAID configurations (specifically for Synology/QNAP).
Experience troubleshooting hardware components (SSD upgrades, RAM, power supplies).
Certifications (Plus): MCSA/MCSE, CCNA, or Fortinet NSE certifications are highly advantageous.
Language: Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required ability to speak a second language (e.g., Mandarin) is a plus to communicate with diverse client stakeholders.
