We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Engineer to join our Network Engineering team. This role is critical to the design, deployment, and maintenance of our core infrastructure, including SD-WAN, DWDM, IP Transit, Datacenter Interconnect, and BGP routing. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in IP networking and optical transport technologies, and will play a key role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of our Telco-grade network services. About the Role
This role is critical to the design, deployment, and maintenance of our core infrastructure, including SD-WAN, DWDM, IP Transit, Datacenter Interconnect, and BGP routing.
Responsibilities
[Network Design & Implementation]
- Design and implement DWDM-based optical transport networks for datacenter interconnect.
- Architect and deploy SD-WAN solutions for enterprise and carrier-grade clients.
- Configure and optimize IP Transit, BGP routing policies, and peering strategies.
- Configure routers, maintain switches, firewalls, VPNs across multi vendor platforms.
- Ensure network scalability, redundancy, and high availability.
[Operations & Maintenance]
- Serve as a Technical point of contact for clients, providing consultations, solutions design and post deployment support.
- Prepare and present technical documentations, network diagrams and change management plans.
- Monitor network health and performance using NMS tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Zabbix).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex L1–L3 network issues.
- Perform firmware upgrades, configuration backups, and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network topology and configurations.
- Provide support during after-hours, weekends, and public holidays when required.
[Security & Compliance]
- Implement network security measures including ACLs and firewalls.
- Conduct regular network audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
- Ensure all deployments comply with SLAs, QoS, and security standards.
- Maintain accurate documentations of network architecture, configurations and SOPs.
[Collaboration & Leadership]
- Work closely with NOC, SOC, and datacenter operations teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical escalation support.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware/software support and procurement.
[Project Management]
- Lead network infrastructure projects from planning to execution.
- Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, and implementation plans.
- Provide regular updates to management on project milestones, risks, and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering, preferably in Telco/ISP backgrounds
- Strong hands-on experience with: DWDM systems, SD-WAN technologies, IP Transit, BGP routing, and network peering
Required Skills
- Experience with Telco-grade network services
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
Preferred Skills
- Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent is an advantage
- Proficient in spoken and written Mandarin is an added advantage in communicating with our SOC/NOC stakeholders
- Possession of own transport is an advantage
