Job Overview
The IT Disaster Recovery Specialist is part of the Global IT Resiliency & Recovery Block within the Platform Grid, responsible for IT Disaster Recovery, IT Continuity and Backup & Restore capabilities across APAC, EMEA, US, and LATAM.
This role focuses on Asia‑Pacific regions (Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore) and is accountable for the planning, coordination, and execution of Global IT Disaster Recovery tests covering Business Applications (Product Grid), Infrastructure Platforms (Platform Grid) and Global Datacentre locations.
You will liaise with Business Owners (Product Owners), Technical engineering from the Platform & Product Grid (Developers, Tech Leads etc), CISO, Business Continuity Management, Operational Risk Management, Business Operations as well as Regional Senior IT & Business Leadership to conduct IT DR Testing activities.
You will be part of the global IT Resiliency Team, with team members located in The Netherlands.
This position is located at our Singapore Office, requires a minimum of 3 days per week onsite and involves regular work outside normal business hours & weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute end‑to‑end IT Disaster Recovery tests, including scheduling, governance, execution, and reporting.
- Facilitate and chair DR workshops, capturing business and technical recovery requirements.
- Present to senior stakeholders & global audiences.
- Support and guide teams in creating, reviewing, and improving Disaster Recovery Plans (DR).
- Integrate DR plans into end‑to‑end recovery runbooks for complex application and platform chain tests.
- Execute weekend DR Test in line with Change Control and IT risk processes.
- Assess IT resiliency maturity using recognised frameworks and propose continuous improvements.
- Build, maintain, and improve IT continuity and disaster recovery processes.
- Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for IT resilience, challenging teams to improve recoverability and readiness.
- Adapt DR processes to industry standards (eg. ISO, NIST), market regulations (eg. DORA), new technologies and organisational changes.
Knowledge & Experience
Mandatory
- 5+ years experience in IT within Banking / Financial Services.
- Hands‑on IT Disaster Recovery Testing.
- Business Continuity Management Systems.
- ITIL / IT Service Management.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
Highly Desirable
- CBCI (BCI Institute) / CBCP (DRI Institute) or equivalent certifications.
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, platforms, and on‑prem/cloud data centres.
Desirable
- Project Management.
- Agile / DevOps or application architecture exposure.
