Position Overview:
The IT Business Analyst acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and the IT team to ensure that technology solutions meet business needs. This role involves gathering and analyzing business requirements, facilitating communication, and supporting the design and implementation of IT systems and processes that drive organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business requirements for IT projects and initiatives.
- Analyze current business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and recommend technology solutions.
- Translate business needs into clear functional specifications and user stories for IT development teams.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, developers, testers, and other IT professionals to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discussions to gather input, resolve conflicts, and build consensus among stakeholders.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by developing test cases, coordinating testing activities, and documenting results.
- Assist in change management activities by preparing training materials, user guides, and communication plans.
- Monitor project progress and provide ongoing analysis to ensure solutions align with business objectives.
- Identify risks and issues related to business requirements and work with relevant teams to mitigate them.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to provide innovative recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT or technology-driven environments.
- Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Experience with requirements gathering, process modeling, and documentation standards.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and project management frameworks such as Agile and Waterfall.
- Proficiency in business analysis and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Visio, or similar).
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of data analysis, SQL, or other technical skills is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile BA certifications are advantageous.
