Job Description

An IT Administrator is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of an organization's IT infrastructure. This includes managing servers, networks, and user accounts implementing cybersecurity measures and disaster recovery protocols maintaining and upgrading hardware and software and providing responsive helpdesk support and training to staff. The role also involves documenting IT processes, monitoring system performance, and collaborating with management to align technology strategies with business goals. By evaluating emerging technologies and driving digital transformation initiatives, the IT Administrator plays a critical role in safeguarding data, optimizing operations, and enabling long-term organizational growth.

1. System & Network Management

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, desktops, and network devices.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal uptime.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights in line with organizational policies.
  • Manage network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, VPNs, and wireless connectivity.

2. Security & Data Protection

  • Implement and maintain firewalls, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Conduct regular data backups and validate disaster recovery procedures.
  • Enforce compliance with cybersecurity standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Monitor security logs and respond to incidents promptly.

3. Software & Hardware Maintenance

  • Perform upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance on operating systems and applications.
  • Procure, configure, and deploy new hardware and software solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for end-users efficiently.
  • Maintain asset inventory and lifecycle management of IT equipment.

4. User Support & Training

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 helpdesk support to employees.
  • Deliver training sessions on IT best practices, security awareness, and productivity tools.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including IT processes, user guides, and knowledge bases.
  • Act as a liaison between IT and business units to ensure user needs are met.

5. Strategic IT Planning

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to enhance business operations.
  • Collaborate with management to align IT strategy with organizational goals.
  • Contribute to IT budgeting, vendor management, and resource planning.
  • Drive initiatives for digital transformation and process automation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in IT administration, systems support, or network management
  • Proven knowledge of network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, and wireless networks
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, user account management, and group policies
  • Familiarity with backup solutions, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
  • Ability to monitor systems for performance and security issues
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS) is a plus
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and data protection policies preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication skills to support non-technical users
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
