The incumbent will lead the repair operations i.e. mechanical part restoration; of Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) & Accessories (LRU) department for the Mechanical Aftermarket Services facility in Singapore which is part of APAC Integrated Supply Chain (ISC).

Key Responsibilities

  • To manage and supervise technicians and planners under his/ her section. This includes training to ensure that personnel are updated with the latest methods, procedures, and requirements; work allocation and problem resolution, as well as participating in decisions for hiring and performance evaluation.
  • Establish a comprehensive performance-based training program for all personnel under his/her supervision to ensure they receive appropriate initial and periodic training.
  • To manage the implementation of new repair processes, if any, into the production lines of Engines and Mechanical Components in timely manner.
  • To develop and sustain detailed process procedures for the Engines and Mechanical Components.
  • To ensure the plan and schedule all orders to be executed in the repair area are adhered to.
  • To provide support to Project Engineering in supervising First Article Inspections (FAI), as required.
  • To provide support to Engines and Mechanical Components assembly lines in improving effectiveness of repair lines with regards to processes and schedules.
  • To liaise with engineering team to develop and modify tools as and when necessary to improve specific process.
  • To manage the repair process areas to meet all quality & HSE standards.
  • Continuously improve the production lines in terms of delivery and quality to meet demands.
  • Ensures all equipment and consumables are maintained adequately for operational effectiveness.
  • Understanding of trade compliance (import and export control) and shipping incoterms.
  • To perform other tasks as required by the supervisor

Responsibilities

Key Experience & Capabilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Operations, Engineering or related fields. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in manufacturing or operations management will be advantageous.
  • A minimum of 8 years of working experience in an overhaul and/or repair (aviation) environment
  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience.
  • Good knowledge and experienced in one or more of the following processes preferred: Automation & Digitization, Document Management System, Project Management
  • Good knowledge and experienced in one or more of the following processes preferred: Chemical Cleaning, Welding, Assembly, NDT (FPI), Thermal Spray.
  • Able to read technical material, develop analysis and make recommendations
  • An advanced degree in manufacturing or business (good to have)
  • Deep-rooted knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques and best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams from entry to senior levels.
  • A proven track record of leading teams to successful product delivery.
  • An innate ability to continuously raise standards each year, driving excellence.
  • Significant leadership experience and the ability to make decisions in complex scenarios.
  • A history of improving team performance and practices through dedicated coaching and mentoring.
  • Leaders who demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong Business Acumen.
