Job Summary:
An opportunity to support regional start-up investments and innovation initiatives across Southeast and South Asia, focusing on emerging technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on new investment opportunities in emerging technology sectors such as renewable energy, AI, FinTech, digital solutions, and drones.
- Support start-up investment activities across Southeast and South Asia.
- Identify and evaluate start-ups through online research and participation in industry events to build an investment pipeline.
- Assist with internal due diligence for potential investments.
- Organise and participate in site visits to start-up operational locations.
- Manage and support existing portfolio start-ups.
- Perform market research and industry analysis to support investment decisions.
- Coordinate proof-of-concept (PoC) projects with start-up partners.
- Support consulting engagements with clients, including innovation programmes and start-up matching initiatives.
- Provide support for Human Resource Development and Project Investment initiatives.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in market research within IT, FinTech, renewable energy, AI, digital technologies, drones, or other emerging technology sectors.
- Proficiency in Japanese language (JLPT N2-N3 or equivalent) for liaising with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in preparing and delivering presentations and research reports.
- Interest in business management and investment-related activities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive and learning-oriented mindset.
- Experience in a similar industry or role is an added advantage.
