Investment Director, Renewables (Wind Energy)

A global leader in wind and renewable energy is building out its international investment platform and hiring an Investment Director to lead development-stage renewable investments across multiple markets. This is a rare greenfield mandate: you'll help shape strategy, execute the deals, and build your own small investment team from the ground up.

The role is originally intended to be based in Hong Kong, but the business is open to basing it in Singapore for the right person. If you're mobile, that flexibility counts in your favour.

What you'll do:

• Originate and evaluate development-stage wind and renewable energy investments across multiple jurisdictions (Europe, MENA, LATAM, APAC).
• Structure and execute JVs, M&A acquisitions and development partnerships end to end.
• Lead senior negotiations on term sheets, shareholder and development agreements, and commercial terms.
• Shape investment structures, governance and participation models, and advise on market prioritisation and capital allocation.
• Represent the business with developers, governments, utilities, project-finance banks, DFIs and ECAs, and build and lead a small (2 to 3 person) investment team.

What you'll bring:

• A strong understanding of investment in the renewable energy sector, with hands-on wind energy investment experience in Western markets and/or Southeast Asia (required).
• A senior-level track record, whether from consulting, an investment firm or fund, a developer/IPP, or an in-house corporate investment team. We're open on the background; what matters is the depth of your investment experience.
• Proven ability to structure and close complex cross-border transactions and manage senior external stakeholders.
• Mandarin proficiency required to liaise with regional suppliers and key stakeholders based in Greater China
• Bonus points for exposure to OEM-linked investments or localisation strategies, and comfort reviewing project-finance models.
