Role Overview
Responsible for leading the Company's investments in renewable energy and energy storage projects, primarily in the European market. This role covers the full investment lifecycle, including project development, M&A, and exit management. The incumbent will oversee project screening, due diligence, transaction structuring, negotiation, execution, and post-investment management, with the objective of optimizing the Group's asset portfolio and investment returns.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and originate investment opportunities in renewable energy and energy storage projects, and expand high-quality project pipelines;
- Conduct industry research, market analysis, and regulatory assessments, and develop feasibility studies and valuation models;
- Lead end-to-end due diligence processes (including commercial, financial, legal, technical, and ESG), and identify and mitigate investment risks;
- Structure transactions and lead investment and M&A negotiations (including SPA, shareholders agreements, financing terms, etc.) to drive deal execution;
- Manage internal investment approval processes and oversee transaction closing;
- Lead post-investment management, including asset performance monitoring, value enhancement initiatives, and participation in exit planning and execution;
- Build and maintain strong local networks in Europe, including developers, utilities, financial institutions, advisors, and regulatory authorities;
- Collaborate closely with the Company's headquarters and China-based teams (e.g. investment, finance, legal, and technical) to ensure efficient project execution;
- Support the Company's European market strategy and portfolio management;
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Energy, Electrical Engineering, Economics, or related disciplines;
- Proven experience in investment, M&A, or asset management within renewable energy, power generation, or infrastructure projects in Europe;
- Solid understanding of European energy policies, regulatory frameworks, and cross-border transaction processes;
- Strong financial analysis and valuation capabilities;
- Ability to independently manage the full investment lifecycle from origination to closing and post-investment management;
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and execution capability;
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken);
- Proficiency in Mandarin, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with the stakeholders;
- Willingness to travel within Europe.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with leading energy groups, infrastructure funds, or investment institutions;
- Familiarity with energy storage business models;
- Professional certifications such as CFA or equivalent.
