The Deep-Tech Investment Analyst will be an integral member of PaeoniaGroup, responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and executing investments in deep-technology sectors. The successful candidate willleveragetheir domainexpertiseto perform thorough technical and commercial due diligence on opportunities involving photonics, quantum computing, advanced materials, semiconductors, and related high-impact technology fields.

PrimaryResponsibilitiesandObjectives:
InvestmentActivities
- Originate,analyze, and recommend direct and fund investment opportunities in deep-tech sectors, especially in photonics, quantum computing, and advanced physics-based innovations.
- Perform comprehensive technical, market, and financial due diligence, including in-depth analysis of novel technologies and intellectual property.
- Prepare clear, concise investment memos and present findings to senior management and the investment committee.
- Track industry trends,maintaina pipeline of promising startups and emerging technologies, and build relationships with industry experts, academic partners, and other investors.
- Assistin post-investment portfolio management,monitoringcompany performance and supporting value creation initiatives.
- Represent PaeoniaGroupat industry events, conferences, and with portfolio companies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operating businesses and internal teams to drive investment strategy.
Mergers & Acquisitions:
- Conduct financial due diligence on target companies, including analyzing historical financial statements, projections, and key performance indicators
- Assistin building andmaintainingfinancial models for M&A transactions, including discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, comparable company analysis, and precedent transaction analysis
- Collaborate with legal and tax teams toidentifyand analyze key deal terms and potential synergies in M&A transactions
- Participate in post-merger integration planning, including tracking and reporting of theacquiredcompanies
Operational Activities
- Prepare, edit, and design professional presentations (slide decks) for internal and external stakeholders.
- Accurately record, draft, and distribute meeting minutes, ensuring follow-up on action items.
- Assistin drafting, formatting, andfinalizinginternal reports, memos, and investment documentation.
- Coordinate meetings and calls, manage scheduling,logistics, and materials preparation.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or Master'sdegree from a top-tier university, preferably in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Photonics, Quantum Computing& AI, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in research, product development, investing, consulting, or industry roles related to deep-tech sectors (e.g., quantum technologies, photonics,AI,advanced semiconductors, materials science).
- Demonstrable knowledge of commercial and technical aspects of deep-tech markets; prior exposure to technology commercialization or venture investing is highly valued.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and financial modelling skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to translate complex technical insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong teamwork orientation with the initiative to work independently in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
- High integrity, professionalism, and a genuine passion for technology and innovation.
