Investment Analyst

Colchester Global Investors has an exciting opportunity for an Investment Analyst with a Fixed Income Sukuk focus to join our Singapore office.

The role sits within our Global Investment Management Team, which has a strong footprint across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The team comprises a diverse, international group of 12 investment professionals and is expanding to support the continued growth of the firm.

This is a research-led role, focused on independent credit assessment, recommendation generation and the maintenance of approved issuer lists (buy/hold/sell). Over time, the role is expected to broaden in scope to include wider fixed income markets and increased exposure to portfolio management responsibilities.

The Role

Responsibilities are centred on high quality analytical work, with selective exposure to portfolio management and client-facing activity. Key Responsibilities include:

1. Credit Research & Recommendation (Core Mandate)

• Conduct fundamental credit analysis of sovereign, quasi-sovereign and corporate sukuk issuers
• Perform relative value analysis across issuers, sectors and geographies
• Develop and maintain issuer-level credit models and internal ratings
• Produce formal investment recommendations (buy/hold/sell)
• Maintain and update a centralised coverage universe and approved list

Sovereign & Macro Credit Analysis

• Undertake country-level research including balance sheet and debt sustainability analysis

Portfolio Support

• Provide input into portfolio construction decisions

Research Output and Thought Leadership

• Produce high-quality written research and thematic papers

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum 2+ years experience in fixed income credit research
• Strong grounding in credit analysis and financial statements
• Familiarity with sovereign risk assessment
• Solid understanding of fixed income markets
• Strong analytical capability with high attention to detail
• Clear and confident written, verbal and presentation skills
• Proficiency in Excel knowledge of Python and/or R advantageous

Preferred Experience

• Experience analysing or managing sukuk instruments
• Progress towards, or completion of the CFA qualification
