Job Description

Overview

Our client is a boutique Family Office seeking an experienced Accountant to manage the financial operations of multiple entities and investment accounts.

This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing reporting and consolidations, monitoring cash positions, and supporting the Principal with clear and timely financial insights. The position requires someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with multi-entity and multi-currency structures.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Records

  • Maintain complete and accurate accounting records for the Family Office and related entities.
  • Record journal entries including accruals, prepayments, and intercompany transactions.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and classified.

Account Reconciliation & Consolidation

  • Reconcile statements across multiple banks, custodians, and brokerage platforms.
  • Perform regular reconciliation of investment positions, trades, corporate actions, and foreign exchange movements.
  • Consolidate financial information across entities and currencies.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare periodic financial reports including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow statements.
  • Assist with group-level consolidation and reporting to the Principal and Board.
  • Provide clear financial summaries to support strategic and investment decisions.

Treasury & Cash Monitoring

  • Monitor cash balances across various accounts and entities.
  • Track investment-related cash flows such as capital calls, distributions, dividends, and coupons.
  • Coordinate payment schedules and ensure timely settlement of obligations.

Operations & Documentation

  • Maintain organised records of trade confirmations, investment agreements, contracts, and fee schedules.
  • Coordinate with auditors and external service providers during audits and reviews.
  • Support the maintenance of internal controls and proper documentation standards.

Tax & Compliance Support

  • Assist with preparation of tax reporting materials for external advisors and regulatory filings.
  • Provide supporting documentation for ACRA filings and IRAS reporting.
  • Exposure to Section 13O / 13U Family Office structures would be advantageous.

Investment Monitoring

  • Track investment performance and portfolio exposure across funds and managers.
  • Monitor management fees, carried interest arrangements, and benchmark comparisons.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or CA preferred.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in family offices, investment firms, fund administration, or audit.
  • Experience working with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting environments.
  • Good understanding of financial reporting standards (IFRS).

Systems & Tools

  • Experience with Xero or QuickBooks preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills required familiarity with Power Query or Power BI would be beneficial.
