The Investigating Officer, Bus Safety, is responsible for conducting thorough and timely investigations into all accidents and safety-related incidents involving SBS Transit vehicles. This role requires on-site investigations for serious accidents, analysis of accident trends, and the implementation of safety initiatives to prevent future occurrences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accident Investigation: Conduct timely and accurate investigations into all accidents and safety-related incidents involving SBS Transit vehicles.
- On-Site Investigation: Perform on-site investigations for all serious accidents to gather evidence and determine the cause.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed accident reports to management and relevant authorities. Present findings of serious accidents to the Board of Inquiry.
- Driver Assessment: Monitor and assess bus captains driving habits to identify areas for improvement.
- Safety Training: Conduct safety courses for both new and existing bus captains to promote safe driving practices.
- Trend Analysis: Analyze accident trends and data to share insights with management and prevent future occurrences.
- Safety Initiatives: Assist in various safety-related initiatives and projects aimed at improving overall safety.
- Project Management: Manage projects related to safety improvements and accident prevention.
- Ad-Hoc Duties: Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the management.
Requirements:
- Diploma in any discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in investigations is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Excellent investigative and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must possess a valid Class 3 license.
- Willing to work shifts and weekends.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
