We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Controller to join our dynamic team in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory across our warehouses, optimizing stock levels, and ensuring product availability to meet customer demand. You'll play a pivotal role in keeping our operations agile, responsive, and cost-efficient.
Responsibilities
- Plan and monitor stock levels for 700 SKUs across two distribution companies
- Collaborate with Sales & Marketing for stock forecasting
- Analyze historical sales data, promotions, and seasonal trends to optimize stock planning and inventory levels
- Maintain accurate records of inventory across warehouses and monitor stock levels to ensure stock availability
- Monitor service level/fulfilment rate to various customers and work on continuous improvement
- Conduct stock reconciliations and physical audits to ensure stock accuracy
- Ensure product quality standards are met by monitoring expiry dates, damages, and returns
- Generate actionable inventory performance reports (turnover, aging, shrinkage) for management
- Track and report inventory write-offs and propose mitigation strategies
- Liaise with 3PL partners to manage inventory transfer between warehouses efficiently
- Prepare order proposals and coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely replenishment and delivery of stocks
- Interface with warehouse supervisors from 3PLs to drive operational excellence and FEFO compliance
- Collaborate with Data Analytics team to develop dashboards for inventory monitoring and control
Requirements
- Degree / Diploma / Professional Certificate in Logistics/Inventory Management/Procurement or equivalent
- 6-8 years of relevant experience; preferably in wholesale and distribution industry
- Responsible, meticulous, analytical and possess a high sense of urgency to meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate and work well with others in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills & able to multi-task
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot table, vlookup, etc)
- Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills
