Job Description

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced international sales professional to drive the global expansion of our Epichlorohydrin (ECH) business. This role focuses on developing overseas markets, managing key client relationships, and executing end-to-end trade operations in the chemical sector.

Key Responsibilities

- International Business Development

  • Expand overseas markets for ECH across Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Europe, and the Americas
  • Identify and develop new customers through exhibitions, LinkedIn, customs data, and B2B platforms
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve volume and profitability targets

- Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain overseas client portfolios through regular engagement (email, calls, site visits)
  • Handle customer inquiries related to product specifications (e.g. purity, color, moisture content)
  • Conduct customer due diligence (KYC) to assess creditworthiness and reliability
  • Resolve customer issues in collaboration with internal teams to strengthen long-term relationships

- Contracting & Trade Execution

  • Negotiate international sales contracts, including pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and penalties
  • Coordinate with operations teams (based in Indonesia) on export documentation (invoice, packing list, bill of lading, DG certificates, COO, etc.)
  • Manage the full order lifecycle: production planning, inspection, shipping, customs clearance, and delivery
  • Track order execution and ensure timely payment collection

- Market Intelligence & Analysis

  • Monitor global ECH pricing trends, upstream raw material movements, and downstream demand
  • Prepare regular market reports to support pricing and inventory decisions
  • Track international trade policies, including anti-dumping measures and environmental regulations (e.g. EU REACH)

- Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with hazardous materials transport regulations (IMDG Code)
  • Ensure adherence to international trade compliance and Indonesian export regulations
  • Manage foreign exchange risks and provide hedging recommendations

Qualifications

- Education

  • Diploma or above in International Trade, Business, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Materials, or related fields

- Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of international sales experience in chemical products
  • Proven experience in ECH or related products (e.g. epoxy resins, glycerin, liquid caustic soda)
  • Track record in developing overseas end-user clients is highly preferred

- Technical Skills

  • Familiar with end-to-end export processes for hazardous chemicals (booking, DG certification, customs declaration, IMDG labeling)
  • Strong knowledge of international trade terms and L/C documentation
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), with the ability to negotiate contracts independently

- Core Competencies

  • Strong business development and market awareness
  • Resilient, results-driven, and able to work under pressure
  • Excellent negotiation and cost management skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong risk awareness in documentation and trade execution

- Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing network of overseas ECH buyers
  • Understanding of cost differences between glycerol-based and propylene-based ECH production
  • Knowledge of global tariffs and anti-dumping impacts on competitiveness
