What youll do:

As an Internal Controller based in Singapore, you will immerse yourself in a multifaceted role that spans internal auditing, risk assessment, compliance oversight, quality management systems administration, and HSE leadership. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you collaborating closely with both local colleagues and international teams to ensure that all internal controls are robustly designed and effectively implemented. You will take ownership of critical processes such as SOX compliance campaigns, entity risk mapping exercises, procedure reviews, quality audits for bunkering license renewals, and stakeholder consultations. By proactively identifying areas for improvement across governance frameworks and operational practicesand by fostering open communication on compliance and HSE topicsyou will help create an environment where best practices thrive.

  • Lead and execute comprehensive internal audits to identify key control weaknesses within procedures and propose effective corrective action plans that ensure risk mitigation strategies are operating as intended.
  • Monitor the implementation of defined action plans by tracking remediation progress on audit findings and providing regular status reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of internal controls including Entity Level Control campaigns as part of SOX compliance requirements, vetting processes, segregation of duties reviews, and related activities.
  • Develop detailed entity risk mapping through conducting internal interviews and performing deep-dive analyses to describe and estimate risks affecting various aspects of the business.
  • Drive the creation, updating, standardisation, and continual improvement of documentation relating to all controls, procedures, and business processes within the organisation.
  • Oversee the annual review process for all organisational procedures to ensure they remain current and effective in meeting regulatory and operational needs.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) as well as overseeing QMBS certification processes specific to Singapore operations.
  • Manage governance-related documentation such as declarations and delegation of authorities to ensure compliance with corporate policies.
  • Perform due diligence checks on counterparties as part of compliance protocols while supporting annual reporting requirements for compliance matters.
  • Coordinate internal communications on compliance topicsincluding anti-fraud and anti-corruption initiativesas well as health, safety, environment (HSE), and ethics issues across local teams.

What you bring:

To excel as an Internal Controller role, you will bring proven experience from similar roles where your analytical mindset has been matched by your commitment to upholding high standards of governance. Your background should reflect hands-on involvement with internal audits or compliance projectsideally within multinational environmentswhere you have shown dependability under pressure.

  • A minimum of five years experience in audit, internal control or compliance roles within complex organisations where you have demonstrated reliability in managing sensitive information.

  • A reputation for integrity combined with strong business acumen and sound judgement when assessing risks or recommending improvements.

  • Proficiency in SAP systems as well as GRC10 software would be advantageous but is not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent technical aptitude.
