Object Attribute Recognition (OAR) is a foundational computer vision task vital for building advanced AI products, with use cases spanning surveillance, security, and open-world scene understanding. The core goal of OAR is to predict class-agnostic characteristics-such as color, texture, material, pose, and state-to provide a holistic description of everyday objects. Rigorous model validation and evaluation are crucial to verifying design quality, training parameters, and benchmark performance, while also uncovering limitations to guide future development.

The Role:

In this role, the interns will evaluate object recognition models with a specific focus on people and vehicles. Key responsibilities include curating large-scale datasets that reflect real-world environmental variables (e.g., lighting, gender, textures, and vehicle makes/models), analyzing dataset properties, and executing performance audits. The ideal interns will work closely with deep learning algorithms and evaluation frameworks, and must possess practical experience with Python and PyTorch.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Currently pursuing or having recently obtained a diploma or degree in computer engineering or a related field

• Programming: Practical, hands-on coding experience with Python

• Frameworks: Good knowledge or academic project experience using PyTorch

• Core Concepts: Understanding of basic computer vision fundamentals, deep learning algorithms, and basic evaluation methodologies (e.g. precision, recall)

• Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and an eagerness to learn from a senior engineering team

• Working Days: 5 days a week, 9 am to 6 pm

• Monthly Internship Allowance:

  • Polytechnic: S$800.00

  • University: S$1,000.00
