NUH Internship Programme (Jan 2027 – Jun 2027)

Explore critical functions of hospital administration such as operations, human resource, communications, and quality improvement that support the smooth delivery of patient care.

Overview and Purpose of the Position:

The role is designed to support Kent Ridge Office of Resources in developing and implementing financial sustainability initiatives aligned with the hospital's 2030 strategic plan. This role will assist in projects aimed at understanding pathway resources profiles and support appropriate value-based care initiatives.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics or Finance or Business Administration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic understanding of business operations and administrative processes
  • Familiarity with business software systems (such as Power BI or Tableau) is a plus

Accountabilities:

  1. Assist in data collection and analysis for financial sustainability initiatives
  2. Support the development of reports on operational and clinical wastage
  3. Help in creating presentations on value-based care initiatives for stakeholders
  4. Contribute to the research and benchmarking of best practices in healthcare financial management
  5. Assist in tracking key performance indicators related to cost reduction and efficiency
  6. Support the coordination of cross-departmental meetings on sustainability projects
  7. Help maintain and update databases related to resource utilization and wastage
  8. Contribute to the development of cost-saving proposals
  9. Assist in preparing financial models to support decision-making processes
  10. Support the implementation and monitoring of approved sustainability initiatives
