Intern, Data & Research (Data) - 6 Months Contract

[What the role is]

The Data & Research (D&R) department leads Singapore's arts and culture research and data ecosystem, leveraging data analytics and robust data practices to shape national arts and culture policy and programme development. The department works closely with Government, academia, cultural institutions, and arts practitioners to strengthen research capabilities across the sector.

As a D&R intern, you will contribute to live data projects and analytics work while supporting analytics needs across the organisation - a great opportunity to apply your skills in a meaningful, real-world context.

[What you will be working on]

You will work with a range of tools and programming languages - including Excel, AWS QuickSight, SQL, and Python - to extract, clean, transform, analyse, and model data that directly informs arts and culture policy, programming, and operations in Singapore. You will also get hands-on experience designing and building dashboards and visualisations that surface meaningful insights for the organisation, alongside developing good habits around data documentation. Beyond the technical work, you will contribute to the development and rollout of a new data warehouse and visualisation platform, gaining exposure to stakeholder engagement, knowledge management, and how data solutions are adopted across an organisation.

[What we are looking for]

• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field
• Some proficiency in Python, SQL, Tableau, AWS QuickSight, or other data and AI tools - you don't need to be an expert, we value curiosity and a willingness to learn
• An interest in using data to make a difference in the arts and culture sector
• Able to commit to 3 to 5 working days per week for the duration of the contract period, unless otherwise discussed and agreed upon prior to acceptance
