Job Description:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Communications Intern to join our dynamic team, who will be responsible for supporting the team in across PR activities and media events.
You will have the opportunity to work across the Corporate or Public Affairs Department and will be assisting the team with media monitoring and reporting, crafting press materials such as pitch notes, press releases, research, and coordinating client events.
There are also opportunities for our interns to sit in client meetings virtually, gaining first-hand experience.
What you can gain from this experience:
- You will acquire the skills to write engaging articles, press release and other materials as necessary.
- Research, crafting and disseminating pitch notes to specific media outlets.
- You will assist the team in monitoring various forms of media, such as newspapers, broadcast, newswires, social media sites and more, to identify potential opportunities for clients.
- You will be collating, analysing, evaluating media coverage.
- You will be the primary point of contact for preparing client reports and participating in client meeting virtually.
- You will gain a better understanding of the range of media outlets present and will be expanding our media contact lists, when necessary.
- You will be assisting the team in work events, if any such as client's conferences/launches such as media registration or note-taking during spokesperson speech.
Who we are looking for:
- A degree (or currently pursuing one) in PR, Media, Communications, Political Science, or a related field.
- You are ready to work with Ruder Finn's clients in Corporate and Public Affairs
- You have a great command of English language and can write. Other language skills are a bonus.
- You are a team player who is eager to learn, open to trying new things, open to feedback and note afraid to share your unique thoughts and ideas
- You enjoy research and putting your analytical skills to work
- You are tech-savvy and have proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Excel
