What The Role Is
This internship provides the candidate with hands-on exposure to the breadth of communications and engagement (C&E) work in the public service. Working alongside the CED team, the candidate will gain practical experience in how communications are planned and executed across different platforms and audiences, from analysing the media and public discourse, to developing content and supporting media engagements and events.

Working alongside the CED team, the candidate will gain practical experience in how communications are planned and executed across different platforms and audiences, from analysing the media and public discourse, to developing content and supporting media engagements and events.
What You Will Be Working On
The key objectives of this internship will be to:
- Support media and sentiment analysis by monitoring local and international media coverage, social media conversations and emerging issues, and distilling relevant trends and insights to support the team's communications work.
- Support content development across different platforms, including developing and adapting social media content, infographics, articles and other communications materials for different audiences.
- Support media engagements and events, including preparation of communications materials and briefs, media coordination, event planning and on-site support.
- Contribute to communications research and planning, including researching emerging trends, platforms and content formats, and identifying opportunities to strengthen the team's communications and engagement efforts.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a good command of English.
- Good research and analytical skills, with an interest in current affairs, media and public communications.
- Ability to distil information and present it clearly and concisely.
- Creativity and an interest in developing content for different platforms and audiences.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly when supporting events and communications activities.
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and basic design, video editing or data analytics tools would be an advantage, but is not required.
