Intern, Associate East Asia

We are looking for a motivated intern to join the East Asia investment team of Symbiotics Investments, supporting Investment Analysts in the monitoring of financial and ESG performance of portfolio institutions across the region. The intern will also contribute to market research, due diligence activities and other ad hoc projects across the company.

The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical exposure to the impact investment industry while working with one of the global leaders in sustainable private debt. The position is full-time (100% FTE) for the agreed internship period in 2026.

Job Description

• Support the Investment team in the preparation of market and industry research reports for countries within the portfolio;
• Collect and review relevant market, economic and sector information, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness;
• Support the maintenance and update of information required for FI account opening, clearing and KYC processes for institutions in the region;
• Input and maintain audited financial statements and liability information for portfolio institutions;
• Support Investment Analysts in the due diligence process and preparation of relevant documentation;
• Support the monitoring of financial and ESG performance of investee institutions;
• Assist with monthly monitoring reports, including timely reception and first-level review of information;
• Follow up on missing or incomplete information required for monitoring purposes;
• Support the maintenance and update of internal investment and monitoring tools;
• Assist Investment Analysts with data collection, analysis and preparation of internal reporting materials;
• Participate in ad hoc projects related to investments, financial institutions, ESG and impact investing;
• Collaborate with Investment Analysts and other teams across regions when required.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person with a strong interest in impact investing, who is organized, professional and eager to learn in a fast-paced and international environment. More specifically, we have the following requirements:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a university degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or another related field;
• Strong interest in impact investing, sustainable finance and emerging markets;
• Strong analytical and numerical skills;
• Good command of Microsoft Excel;
• Ability to work with financial data and financial statements;
• Capacity to handle multiple ongoing tasks and priorities on a daily basis;
• Excellent sense of organization and communication;
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
• Proactive mindset and willingness to learn;
• Ability to work both independently and as part of an international team;
• Fluent written and spoken English;
• Knowledge of an East Asian language is considered a plus;
