About the Internship
This internship goes beyond traditional finance operations by providing opportunities to participate in finance transformation, process governance, Shared Service Centre (SSC) oversight, data analytics, automation and AI initiatives.
The intern will work closely with stakeholders to improve finance processes, strengthen controls and support the digitalisation of finance operations.
Scope of Exposure
The responsibilities and learning opportunities described below represent potential areas of exposure during the internship. Actual assignments will be determined based on business priorities, project availability and operational needs during the internship period. While every effort will be made to provide a meaningful and well-rounded experience, interns may be exposed to only some of the areas listed and their responsibilities may evolve based on ongoing business requirements and projects.

Key Responsibilities
Finance Operations & Reporting
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end finance activities.
- Assist in the preparation, review and analysis of financial information and management reports.
- Support accounting processes and financial reporting activities.
- Perform data extraction, reconciliations and validation exercises.
- Assist in documenting finance processes, workflows and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in the design and implementation of automation and AI-enabled solutions for finance processes.
- Conduct process reviews to identify inefficiencies, manual activities and opportunities for digitalisation.
- Assist in developing dashboards, analytical tools and automation solutions to improve productivity, controls and reporting.
- Perform data analysis to identify policy non-compliance, control exceptions and unusual transaction patterns.
- Support monitoring activities through review of transactional data and key risk indicators.
- Assist in developing management reports and dashboards that provide insights into compliance, operational performance and process effectiveness.
- Support the review and validation of work performed by the Shared Service Centre (SSC) to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
- Perform quality checks on SSC deliverables before final approval by Keppel process owners or team leads.
- Assist in reviewing Master Data Management (MDM) requests by validating supporting documentation, data accuracy and compliance with governance requirements.
- Identify exceptions, recurring issues and process gaps, and escalate observations to the relevant stakeholders.
- Work with stakeholders on operational and transformation initiatives.
- Gather business requirements, document feedback and support implementation of improvement projects.
- Prepare analysis papers, presentations and management updates for decision-making and governance discussions.
During the internship, you will gain hands-on exposure to:
Accounting & Finance Operations
- End-to-end finance processes including Record-to-Report (R2R), Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C).
- Financial reporting, reconciliations and finance operations in a large corporate environment.
- Techniques for analysing large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, control weaknesses and compliance gaps.
- Development of management dashboards and performance reporting.
- Practical experience in identifying and implementing automation opportunities.
- Exposure to AI tools, workflow automation projects.
- Understanding how technology can enhance efficiency, controls, governance and decision-making within finance functions.
- Understanding how organisations govern and oversee Shared Service Centre operations.
- Exposure to quality assurance reviews, management approvals and control monitoring activities.
- Experience in reviewing SSC deliverables, service performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Application of finance policies, internal controls and governance frameworks.
- Experience in identifying risks, monitoring compliance and supporting audit activities.
