Our client, a top tier insurer is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to grow and strengthen their insurance advisory force in Singapore. This role plays a critical part in driving production, building a sustainable agency pipeline, and developing high-performing advisers in line with MAS and company standards.
This position suits a commercially driven leader with strong recruitment capability, hands-on sales management experience, and a deep understanding of the Singapore insurance distribution landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a dedicated group of financial advisers to achieve targets
- Drive consistent sales activity, productivity, and quality metrics, including persistency ratios
- Work closely with senior management to ensure strong execution across product mix and growth priorities
- Own end-to-end recruitment of new advisers and leaders, including sourcing, selection, onboarding, and early-stage development
- Build and execute recruitment strategies that reflect Singapore market realities, including digital platforms, referrals, career talks, job fairs, and industry networking
- Drive engagement and retention initiatives to build a stable, long-term advisory force
Requirements
- Degree holder
- CMFAS Modules 5, 9, and 9(A) mandatory
- Certificate in Health Insurance mandatory
- Minimum 5 years experience in insurance sales management, agency development, or business development within Singapore
- Strong track record in adviser recruitment, production growth, and people leadership
- Good understanding of MAS regulations, agency KPIs, and distribution economics
- Highly self-motivated, organised, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
