Role Overview
We are seeking an Infrastructure Operations Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance enterprise-level IT systems. This role focuses on ensuring system uptime, maintaining secure configurations, and managing day-to-day operations across Linux/Windows servers, Nutanix clusters, and network infrastructure. You will work closely with security and infrastructure teams to deliver stable, reliable, and compliant systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support SUSE Linux and Windows Server environments across production and staging systems.
- Maintain system uptime and respond promptly to incidents to minimize impact on operations.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and carry out corrective actions for infrastructure components.
- Execute patching activities for operating systems and Nutanix environments, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards.
- Support network operations including routing, switching, and firewall configurations.
- Monitor health and performance of Nutanix HCI, ensuring optimum cluster utilization and stability.
- Utilize Splunk for log monitoring, alert handling, and proactive threat or anomaly detection.
- Investigate incidents through detailed root-cause analysis and document resolutions.
- Assist in hardware/software refresh cycles, version upgrades, and virtualization enhancements.
- Maintain accurate documentation for configuration management, asset tracking, and change processes.
- Collaborate with security teams to review logs, patch vulnerabilities, and strengthen system hardening.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure support or system operations.
- Mandatory: Solid experience with Nutanix administration and HCI management.
- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments.
- Familiarity with network technologies such as routing, switching, and firewall systems.
- Experience with Splunk or similar SIEM/log management tools is beneficial.
- Strong diagnostic skills, problem-solving ability, and teamwork mindset.
- Able to operate independently and handle tasks with minimal supervision.
