Responsibilities
- Perform system administration and daily operational support, including system health checks, diagnostics, troubleshooting, patch verification, and standby support for urgent incidents.
- Plan and execute system deployments, patching and upgrades following best practices (build, test, snapshot, pilot, release, monitor and rollback), including server/VM builds and application infrastructure support.
- Manage and maintain Windows servers, Active Directory/domain controllers, Wintel and Linux environments, including migrations, installations, upgrades, monitoring and performance optimisation.
- Support IT operations, incident management and change management processes, including planning, executing and closing change requests and deployments.
- Administer and maintain virtualised infrastructure using tools such as vSphere, ESXi and vCenter, where applicable.
- Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, resolve incidents and improve system stability and performance.
Requirements
- Nitec, Higher Nitec or Diploma in Information Technology or a related discipline.Minimum 2 years of experience supporting enterprise IT environments.
- Hands-on experience deploying, managing and troubleshooting Windows servers, file servers, domain controllers and Linux systems.
- Familiar with IT operations processes including incident and change management.
- Experience in patch management and dependency planning.
- Ability to monitor systems, analyse utilisation and generate alert/reporting insights.
