Role Responsibilities
1. Lead pre-migration assessment in diverse cloud migration scenarios (on-premises to VMware hybrid cloud, on-premises to AWS, on-premises to Huawei HCS, etc.), conduct in-depth analysis of source system environments (including VMware infrastructure, physical servers, and legacy systems), evaluate compatibility with target cloud platforms, identify migration risks (such as data consistency, service interruption, and compatibility issues), and propose targeted mitigation strategies.
2. Design scenario-specific optimal migration architectures centered on VMware technologies (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, VCF), AWS services, and Huawei HCS (Huawei Cloud Stack), including network interconnection design, security compliance configuration, high-availability deployment, disaster recovery strategy, and data migration paths tailored to different migration scenarios (lift-and-shift, rehosting, refactoring).
3. Develop detailed migration execution plans for various scenarios, covering VMware infrastructure integration, AWS/Huawei HCS resource provisioning, data migration tool selection (compatible with multi-cloud platforms), incremental data synchronization strategies, service cutover procedures, and rollback mechanisms to ensure zero business interruption during migration.
4. Execute end-to-end cloud migration projects across multiple platforms, including deploying and configuring VMware components (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, VCF), setting up AWS and Huawei HCS target environments, implementing cross-platform data migration, migrating servers, storage, and applications, and verifying system functionality, data consistency, and performance indicators post-migration.
5. Implement and optimize NSX-based network virtualization for hybrid cloud migration scenarios, including logical switching/routing, distributed firewalls, security policies, and establishing stable hybrid connectivity between on-premises environments and AWS/Huawei HCS platforms.
6. Perform scenario-specific performance testing and optimization for migrated VMware, AWS, and Huawei HCS environments, identifying performance bottlenecks in post-migration systems and providing targeted recommendations to enhance system reliability, response speed, and cost-efficiency.
7. Coordinate with client teams, internal technical resources, and cloud service partners to ensure effective communication, timely issue resolution, and adherence to project timelines.
8. Provide technical guidance and support to clients during and after migration, including documentation and post-migration assurance services.
9. Stay updated with the latest VMware, AWS, HCS and cloud migration best practices, and apply them to improve migration processes and service quality.
1. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in end-to-end cloud migration projects, with a proven track record in migration scenarios involving VMware infrastructure (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, VCF), AWS cloud, and Huawei Cloud Stack (HCS).
2. Proficiency in VMware vSphere, vSAN, and VCF (VMware Cloud Foundation) for infrastructure deployment, configuration, and management.
3. Familiarity with common operating systems (Linux, Windows) and basic shell scripting for automation.
4. Understanding of database architectures (Oracle, MySQL, RDS, MongoDB, Redis) and common database operation commands relevant to migration scenarios.
5. Familiarity with Python and Bash scripting, with the ability to develop and execute regular scripts for migration process automation, such as batch operation of cloud resources, data synchronization monitoring, and post-migration system inspection.
