Acheron is a market maker holding a CASP license issued by the AFM in the Netherlands under MiCAr and with passporting in all EU countries.
Acheron provides liquidity services to digital asset issuers from their most embryonic stages and throughout their adoption cycle. It is our belief that market inefficiency is one of the factors preventing digital assets from achieving mass adoption.
As an Infrastructure and DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in building, maintaining, and optimizing our cloud-based infrastructure while also handling DevOps tasks. You'll ensure system reliability, security, and compliance with regulations such as those from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) for financial intelligence (FinTel) reporting. This position requires hands-on experience in regulated financial institutions (FIs), with a focus on vulnerability management, disaster recovery, and cost-efficient operations. You'll double-hat as a DevOps specialist, bridging infrastructure and development workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP, including spinning up new servers, configuring VPCs (Virtual Private Clouds), and optimizing network setups for secure, high-performance trading environments.
- Implement and maintain firewalls, VPN configurations, and data loss prevention measures to block unauthorized outgoing information or uploads of company data, ensuring robust security protocols.
- Provide end-user support, including device management via Jamf for Apple ecosystems, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and ensuring seamless operations for remote and on-site teams.
- Conduct vulnerability patching, monitor for zero-day vulnerabilities, and perform regular security scans to mitigate risks in a regulated crypto environment.
- Handle MAS FinTel reporting requirements, including acting on regulatory alerts, documenting compliance workflows, and ensuring all systems align with financial institution standards.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system diagrams, architecture overviews, incident response playbooks, disaster recovery procedures, and database recovery protocols.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration, server monitoring tools, and cost control strategies to optimize cloud spending without compromising performance.
- Double-hat as a DevOps engineer by automating workflows, configuring new servers, and integrating CI/CD pipelines to support rapid development and deployment in our market-making operations.
- Collaborate with compliance, trading, and development teams to ensure all infrastructure changes meet regulatory requirements for financial institutions.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential issues, including on-call support for incidents and recovery scenarios.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, CISSP, or CISM) are highly desirable.
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure management and DevOps, with proven expertise in AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, VPCs, firewalls, VPNs, and server configuration/spin-up.
- Strong background working in regulated financial institutions (FIs), including familiarity with MAS regulations, FinTel reporting, and compliance in crypto or fintech sectors.
- Proficiency in documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Draw.io for diagrams) and creating playbooks for incidents, disaster recovery, and database recovery.
- Skills in network configuration, server monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), cost optimization (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer), and data security measures (e.g., blocking sensitive uploads).
- Ability to double-hat effectively in a fast-paced environment, blending infra support with DevOps automation.
- Hands-on experience with Jamf for endpoint management, vulnerability patching tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys), and zero-day response strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
