We are seeking a highly hands-on Infrastructure Architect & Automation Engineer to support GCC programmes in Singapore. This role requires a strong engineering practitioner with deep infrastructure fundamentals, advanced automation skills, and the ability to design, build, code, and operate modern infrastructure platforms. This is not a traditional infrastructure or design-only architect role. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong developer pedigree, extensive hands-on automation experience, and the capability to translate infrastructure architecture into executable code and pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Architecture & Platform Design (Hands-on First)
- Design and implement end-to-end infrastructure architectures aligned with GCC standards, Security, resilience, and compliance requirements
- Architect platforms across On-premise, Hybrid, Cloud (Azure / AWS / GCP where applicable)
- Produce implementation-ready architecture artefacts covering Compute, storage, and networking, Platform services, Security and availability design
Infrastructure Automation & IaC (Core Focus)
- Design and develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM / Bicep / CloudFormation, Ansible / Puppet / Chef
- Build reusable, modular infrastructure components
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and teardown of environments
- Enforce consistency and repeatability across environments
Hands-on Engineering & Scripting
- Actively code and maintain automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash
- Develop custom automation tools and scripts
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues at OS, Network, Platform layers
- Perform performance tuning and root cause analysis
Cloud & Platform Engineering
- Design and implement Cloud landing zones, Secure network architectures, Platform services (Kubernetes, container platforms, PaaS)
- Build and operate Kubernetes / OpenShift clusters, Container runtime and orchestration platforms
- Integrate infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines, Observability and monitoring platforms
Security, Compliance & Resilience Engineering
- Implement security controls aligned with GCC standards, CIS benchmarks, Zero Trust principles
- Automate Security hardening, Patch management, Configuration compliance
- Design for High availability, Disaster recovery, Backup and restore
DevOps, CI/CD & Platform Enablement
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure provisioning, Platform deployments, Configuration management
- Integrate Security scanning, Policy-as-code, Compliance checks
- Enable application teams with Self-service infrastructure, Developer-friendly platforms
Migration, Modernisation & Optimisation
- Lead and execute Legacy infrastructure modernisation
- On-prem cloud / hybrid migrations
- Optimise Performance, Cost, Reliability
- Refactor legacy scripts into Modular, maintainable automation code
Technical Leadership & Engineering Culture
- Act as hands-on technical authority for infrastructure and automation
- Mentor engineers on Automation best practices, Secure infrastructure design
- Collaborate with Security, Application, Architecture teams
- Engage stakeholders with Clear technical explanations
- Practical design trade-offs

- Proven progression as:
- Infrastructure Engineer Automation Engineer Architect
- Experience in Government/ Public Sector / Regulated environments preferred
- Demonstrated ability to design, code, deploy, and operate infrastructure
