Job Description

Role Purpose

The IT Support, Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Specialist is responsible for providing local IT support, maintaining workplace technology and infrastructure, and supporting cybersecurity operations. The role acts as the on-site liaison between users, central IT teams, managed service providers and technology vendors to ensure reliable, secure and efficient IT services.

Role Accountabilities

Planning & Coordination

  • Support IT infrastructure and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Identify service improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with technology refresh and remediation plans.
  • Maintain asset and capacity planning.
  • Support business continuity and resilience planning.
  • Ensure compliance with IT standards and policies.

Local IT Support and Service Delivery

  • Provide deskside and remote support for laptops, mobile devices, printers, meeting rooms, collaboration tools and standard business applications.
  • Perform device setup, deployment, replacement, collection and secure disposal, including joiner, mover and leaver activities.
  • Triage incidents and service requests, resolve issues within agreed scope, and escalate with clear diagnostics and evidence.
  • Maintain accurate IT assets, equipment assignment, warranty, stock and local support records.
  • Coordinate on-site vendor visits, repairs, cabling, equipment moves and office technology changes.
  • Provide practical user guidance on approved IT tools and security practices.

Infrastructure and Workplace Technology

  • Support office network connectivity, Wi-Fi, meeting-room systems, printers, end-user devices and local IT equipment.
  • Assist IT Service providers with infrastructure deployment, patching, upgrades, testing, maintenance and recovery activities.
  • Manage and optimise cloud infrastructure on Azure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security
  • Monitor infrastructure alerts and recurring issues and follow through until resolution.
  • Maintain infrastructure diagrams, inventories, procedures and support contacts.
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery exercises.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud-based applications.

Cybersecurity Operations and Compliance

  • Act as the local contact for cybersecurity operations and support corporate security standards and controls.
  • Assist with endpoint protection, security patching, vulnerability remediation, device compliance, access checks and secure configuration under approved procedures.
  • Support investigation and containment of suspected security incidents, preserve information and escalate promptly.
  • Perform periodic checks of local IT assets and physical technology areas and track remediation.
  • Support access reviews, audit evidence, risk assessments, control testing and follow-up actions.
  • Reinforce safe practices covering phishing reporting, data handling, privileged access and acceptable use.

Operational Governance and Improvement

  • Follow IT service management, change management, security, data protection, procurement and asset-management processes.
  • Ensure infrastructure or security changes are authorised, documented, tested and supported by rollback or recovery plans where applicable.
  • Coordinate suppliers and service providers operationally and escalate service gaps.
  • Analyse recurring incidents and service trends, recommend improvements and maintain support knowledge.
  • Provide concise updates on service health, risks, incidents, assets and remediation actions.

Safety

  • Take responsibility for the safety of myself and those around me by displaying safety leadership principles (i.e. Safety I's & Accountability ladder).
  • Challenging and stopping unsafe acts and behaviours or unsafe conditions.
  • Comply with the Global Safety Standards, Polices and Operating Procedures.

Key Qualifications & Skills

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience in end-user support, workplace technology and infrastructure operations.
  • Experience working with managed service providers and multiple locations is desirable.
  • Relevant Microsoft, ITIL, or security certifications are advantageous.
