We are seeking an experienced Patch Management Lead to oversee and manage the timely deployment of patches and updates across business-critical systems. This role is essential in ensuring the security, stability, and performance of enterprise IT services. You will lead a team responsible for patching server operating systems, middleware, and infrastructure components in line with compliance and SLA requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the entire patch management lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, deployment, and post-deployment activities.
- Coordinate all patching activities across customer environments, ensuring alignment with agreed schedules.
- Prepare and publish patch deployment calendars to relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee daily operations of the patch management team, promoting collaboration, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.
- Supervise and guide a team of 610 members (onsite/offshore), ensuring timely and compliant execution of patching tasks.
- Monitor patch deployments, troubleshoot issues, and mitigate disruptions to end-users and services.
- Collaborate with IT, InfoSec, vendors, and business units to gather requirements, address concerns, and communicate patch schedules.
- Work with incident management teams to investigate and remediate security incidents related to unpatched vulnerabilities.
- Participate in monthly patch reviews, schedule meetings, and track patching compliance through regular reports.
- Prioritize and schedule system maintenance activities based on business needs.
- Ensure SLA compliance, preventive support, and minimal downtime during patch cycles.
- Provide weekend support when required for critical deployments or maintenance windows.
- Contribute to infrastructure build projects and apply project management knowledge to ensure timely delivery.
Required Qualifications & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in patch management or IT infrastructure roles.
- Hands-on expertise in RedHat Linux, Openshift, Databases, and Middleware technologies.
- Experience with patching tools such as SCCM, Red Hat Satellite, IBM BigFix, etc.
- Proficient in using Jira and other ticketing or scheduling tools.
- Solid understanding of data center operations and enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Proven experience managing and mentoring IT teams.
- Strong grasp of server OS, hardening processes, and infrastructure builds.
- Background in managed services or IT consulting is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain service excellence.
