ICT security engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and technical Systems Engineer to design, implement, and optimize client and our core IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the high availability and performance of our server environments, network architecture, and cloud services. You will move beyond day-to-day troubleshooting to focus on systems automation, security hardening, and ensuring our technical ecosystem scales alongside our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design & Engineering

• Systems Architecture: Design, configure, and maintain robust server environments (physical and virtual), ensuring high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery readiness.

• Automation & Scripting: Develop and implement automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) to streamline system deployments, patch management, and repetitive administrative tasks.

Advanced Systems Management

• Server Administration: Manage Active Directory/Entra ID, Group Policy (GPO), DNS, DHCP, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, or Nutanix).

• Security Hardening: Implement and oversee enterprise-level security protocols, including endpoint protection (EDR), firewall configurations, and vulnerability assessments to safeguard corporate data.

Network & Connectivity Engineering

• Enterprise Networking: Architect and manage complex network environments, including VLANs, VPNs, SD-WAN, and high-density Wireless Access Point (AP) deployments.

• Surveillance & Access Control: Provide Tier 3 technical oversight for integrated security systems, including IP-based CCTV clusters and networked biometric access controls.

Lifecycle & Capacity Planning

• Resource Forecasting: Monitor system performance metrics and conduct capacity planning to ensure infrastructure meets future demand.

• Asset Governance: Oversee the full lifecycle of hardware and software assets, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and maintaining a standardized hardware stack.

Documentation & Knowledge Leadership

• Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive system diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and disaster recovery plans.

• Mentorship: Act as the technical escalation point for junior IT staff and lead technical training sessions for specialized software deployments.

Strategic Project Management

• Deployment & Migration: Lead major infrastructure projects, including server migrations, cloud transitions (Azure/AWS), and office expansions.

• Critical Response: Provide expert-level support during system outages and remain available for scheduled high-impact maintenance windows outside of standard business hours.
