HVAC Engineer (GMP Pharma Facility)
Location: Tuas South / Tuas Bay Street
Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Salary: $5,300 - $6,000 per month
Benefits: No AWS | Performance Bonus: 0.5 - 1 month
Type: 3-month contract (convertible to permanent)
Standby: 24/7 emergency response coverage required
Key Responsibilities
1. Facilities & Technical Operations
- Maintain and ensure optimal performance of all hard services systems
- Manage HVAC and critical utility systems supporting GMP operations
- Execute preventive maintenance and ensure timely closure of work orders
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical building systems
- Review and implement maintenance strategies and SOPs
- Coordinate vendor servicing and on-site technical works
2. Engineering & Technical Governance
- Interpret complex engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Review and approve engineering changes and modifications
- Provide technical solutions and system improvement recommendations
- Monitor system performance and drive optimization initiatives
3. Emergency & Standby Support
- Provide 24/7 standby coverage for critical facility issues
- Act as escalation point for urgent site emergencies
- Ensure rapid response to operational disruptions
4. Budget & Cost Management
- Manage engineering and maintenance budgets
- Participate in forecasting and financial planning
- Review and approve expenditures within authority limits
- Ensure cost-effective delivery of services
5. Safety, EHS & GMP Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with GMP, EHS, and regulatory requirements
- Lead safety culture and promote proactive safety practices
- Support incident investigations, risk assessments, and CAPA actions
- Ensure proper use of PPE, LOTO, and safety systems
- Participate in audits and regulatory inspections
6. Quality & Regulatory Systems
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and quality management systems
- Support deviation investigations and root cause analysis
- Maintain GMP documentation, spare parts records, and compliance logs
- Review change controls and qualification protocols
7. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage vendor performance and service delivery
- Review contracts, invoices, and technical deliverables
- Build strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Provide KPI, cost, and compliance reporting
8. Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, supervise, and develop site technical team
- Drive training, competency development, and performance reviews
- Support recruitment, staffing, and succession planning
- Promote continuous improvement across operations
