Job Summary

This is a key HR role within the International People team, responsible for building deep-seated relationships with our APJ business leaders, and within the global HRBP and People teams.

The primary focus of the HR Business Partnering will be on supporting Singapore, Australia and Japan GTM teams, alongside our HR Director for India.

The preferred location is Singapore or Japan in order to be able to join International team meetings with EMEA and US colleagues.

This individual will cement our best-in-class approach to people management, driving forward our strategic people agenda. Requiring deep-seated technical expertise in these countries, this role covers the full HRBP remit; the successful candidate will be comfortable in managing all employee relations and legislative issues across Australia, Singapore, India and Japan.

To ensure best-practice for key annual employee life cycle initiatives, they will deliver complex HR initiatives, roll out regional policies, provide leadership training and management coaching, and support Organisational Design (OD) initiatives and best in class HR operations for our global HRBP team.

The essence of this role is flexibility; its scope and seniority require a seasoned HR professional who demonstrates high EQ, a self-starter who is happy to operate in the grey and can effectively prioritise multiple competing projects; an HR leader who is able to both get into the weeds for granular analysis, and to present concepts and ideas to our most senior leaders, creating strategies and programs that enable and accelerate the long-term growth of our BlackLiners.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Engage with the business in a hands-on consultative manner, identifying needs and gaps, and leading strategic, project-based people and business initiatives. Provide coaching and guidance to regional business leaders at all levels, including our Geo SVP Sales for APJ, with a specific focus on High Performance Culture

  • Be an active partner and a strong role model in a highly collaborative international Human Resources team, providing coaching and mentorship for professional growth to early-career professionals.

  • Unify our global HR team, driving forward an aggressive project agenda, with an initial focus on the APJ region.

  • Review with a critical eye, and build up a best-in-class approach to, the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding and induction, to mid- and year-end appraisals, merit and promotion cycle, calibration & 9-box etc.

  • Leverage human resources subject matter expertise in the formulation, recommendation and deployment of complex HR programs and policies, combining strategic sense with tactical execution.

  • Establish key International People Reports including KPIs and people management ROI metrics; use a data-driven approach to analyze trends, inform decisions, and implement actions to increase productivity and retention.

  • Work collaboratively with our People SMEs, global CoEs and regional shared services to ensure best-practice and a constant focus on process improvement.

Required Qualifications

Years of Experience in Related Field:

  • Accomplished Human Resources leader and manager with a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in Human Resources business partner role.
  • Must have worked for a global organisation, ideally within the technology industry and/or headquartered in the United States.
  • DEIB, Learning & Development, and project management experience highly desirable.

Education:

Requires a university degree or its equivalent in experience in Human Resources, Business or related field. Ideally has a post-graduate degree in the same field(s).

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Fluent English. Other languages including Japanese are a bonus, but not essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills and organizational savvy, relates well to others, builds relationships throughout the organization, and is a quick study to organisation dynamics
  • An objective and trusted advisor, able to effectively collaborate with and engage stakeholders in difficult discussion, to challenge assumptions, advise on the talent implications of decisions and present alternate explanations and solutions
  • Comprehensive knowledge in the areas of organizational design, staffing, learning & development practices and employment law matters for Australia, Japan and Singapore (ethics, conduct, employee wellness, staffing, wage and hour, time tracking, Works Councils & CBAs, employment obligations, leaves of absence, etc.).
  • Able to intake information and insights, frame the need and deliver consultative or hands-on problem-solving support
  • Big picture thinker, able to translate strategies into action and align HR and organisational goals
  • Ability to work swiftly within tight time constraints and agility to adapt to changing priorities while remaining calm under pressure
  • Knowledge of project management fundamentals to organize, prioritize and time-manage work with keen attention to detail and accuracy in presentation of information
  • Effectively copes with change, ambiguity and risk; can adapt to the changing demands of a fast paced, high growth environment
  • Possesses a propensity and ability to turn obstacles into challenges, motivating others to keep morale and productivity high
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS (Workday is a definite plus) and ATS platforms (iCIMS experience desirable)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Can-do, sleeves-rolled-up attitude
  • Committed not only to solving problems but preventing them in the future.
