Job Description
Job Purpose
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a trusted partner to business leaders and employees, providing comprehensive HR support across employee relations, industrial relations, employee engagement, talent management, performance management, and HR operations. This role plays a key part in fostering positive employee relations, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies, and driving engagement initiatives to create a productive and inclusive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Business Partnership
- Partner with assigned business units to understand workforce needs and provide HR solutions that support business objectives.
- Advise managers on people-related matters including employee performance, conduct, career development, workforce planning, and organizational changes.
- Support leaders in implementing HR policies, practices, and initiatives.
- Monitor workforce trends and identify opportunities to improve employee productivity and engagement.
2. Employee Relations & Industrial Relations
- Manage employee grievances, disciplinary cases, misconduct investigations, and performance improvement cases.
- Conduct investigations, fact-finding interviews, and prepare investigation reports and recommendations.
- Provide guidance to managers on employment legislation, company policies, and disciplinary procedures.
- Handle employee complaints and resolve workplace conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
- Support the management of union-related matters where applicable, including communication with union representatives.
- Maintain proper documentation and records relating to employee relations and disciplinary matters.
3. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Support employee engagement initiatives aimed at strengthening organizational culture and employee experience.
- Plan, administer, and analyze employee engagement surveys and pulse surveys.
- Prepare survey findings and work with business leaders to develop and implement action plans.
- Organize and coordinate company-wide employee engagement activities, events, and celebrations.
- Manage event budgets, vendors, communications, and logistics for engagement activities.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- 4 to 7 years of HR generalist or HR business partnering experience.
- Strong experience handling employee relations and disciplinary matters.
- Proven experience managing employee engagement surveys and engagement programs.
- Experience organizing company events and employee engagement activities.
- Exposure to industrial relations is an advantage.
Knowledge & Skills
- Good understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong employee relations and conflict management skills.
- Experience conducting investigations and managing disciplinary cases.
- Strong project management and event coordination capabilities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret employee survey results and HR metrics.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
