HRBP (Maritime / Shipping Industry)
Faststream is partnering with a well-established international organisation within the maritime and shipping sector to appoint a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) based in Singapore.
This is a hands-on HR role supporting business leaders across a dynamic, operationally intensive environment. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, balancing commercial priorities with strong people practices while driving organisational effectiveness across the full employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnering
- Partner closely with senior leaders and line managers to align people strategy with business priorities.
- Provide pragmatic and commercially sound HR advisory support across workforce planning, organisational design, performance and engagement.
- Influence and challenge business leaders constructively to drive sound people decisions.
- Build credibility with demanding stakeholders across both corporate and operational functions.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Partner hiring managers on headcount planning, role scoping and hiring decisions.
- Challenge hiring assumptions where required, ensuring robust workforce planning and quality hiring outcomes.
- Drive recruitment processes in partnership with Talent Acquisition and external vendors where relevant.
- Support succession planning and internal mobility initiatives.
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Oversee end-to-end employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, probation, performance management, promotions, transfers and exits.
- Ensure a high-quality employee experience while maintaining operational efficiency and policy compliance.
- Support employee relations matters with sound judgment and professionalism.
- Utilise HRIS tools such as SAP SuccessFactors for employee data management, workflow approvals, reporting and talent processes.
Performance & Capability
- Coach managers on performance conversations, accountability and team effectiveness.
- Support annual performance and compensation cycles through SAP SuccessFactors or equivalent HR platforms.
- Identify capability gaps and partner leaders on development plans.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with local labour legislation and internal governance standards.
- Maintain accurate HR data, dashboards and people reporting using SAP SuccessFactors and related systems.
Requirements
Mandatory
- Proven progressive HR experience, including solid experience as an HR Business Partner.
- Prior experience within the shipping / maritime industry is essential.
- Strong understanding of operational business environments with multiple stakeholder groups.
- Proven ability to work with and manage difficult, demanding or senior stakeholders confidently.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge and push back on hiring managers constructively when required.
- Strong experience across the full employee lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience using SAP SuccessFactors for HR operations, talent management and reporting.
- Sound knowledge of Singapore employment law and HR best practices.
- Strong communication, influencing and relationship management skills.
Preferred
- Experience supporting regional populations across Asia.
- Degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline.
- Experience participating in HR systems optimisation or process improvement initiatives.
