HR Operations Specialist
Job Description
We are looking for an HR Operations Specialist to own the day-to-day people operations that keep our teams running smoothly. You will own key parts of the employee experience - from payroll and HR operations to workplace experience - and work closely with teams across Cobo to solve problems, improve processes and keep things running smoothly.
This is a role for someone who does not wait for a playbook. You will have the autonomy to spot what needs fixing, figure out the best way forward and turn ideas into action.
Role Responsibilities:
HR Operations
- Manage the employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding, including contracts, leave, benefits, work passes, background checks, records and HR documentation
- Own the end-to-end monthly payroll process across multiple markets, ensuring accurate and timely payroll, employee changes, statutory requirements and coordination with external providers
- Be a trusted point of contact for employees - understand the issue, find the answer and close the loop
- Stay on top of employment laws and HR practices across different markets, and identify potential compliance gaps
- Build and improve HR processes, policies and SOPs so that we can scale without adding unnecessary complexity
Workplace & Experience
- Own the workplace experience - keep the office running smoothly, from facilities, vendors, workplace services and day-to-day employee needs
- Take ownership of office events, employee activities and workplace initiatives that bring people together and strengthen our culture
- Look beyond day-to-day administration - spot what is not working, propose better ways of doing things and turn ideas into action
Build & Partner
- Work closely with Finance, Legal, IT and business teams to make cross-functional initiatives happen
- Help build the systems, processes and operating rhythm needed as Cobo grows across markets
- Bring structure to ambiguity - identify what needs to be done, figure out how to do it and take it through to completion
- Contribute to a more AI-native and efficient HR function, exploring better ways to automate repetitive work and improve employee support
Role Requirements:
- At least 2 to 4 years of experience in HR Operations, People Operations, or a similar role, with hands-on payroll experience
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR practices across multiple markets
- High initiative and strong ownership - you see what needs to be done and take action without waiting to be told
- A practical problem-solver who knows how to work around constraints and find a way forward
- Always looking to improve - you spot gaps, challenge inefficient processes and build better ways of working
- Strong follow-through, attention to detail and communication skills
- Experience in technology, fintech, financial services, payments or Web3 is a plus
