Job Description

As we prepare for our opening in Q1 2026, Varel Singapore is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Intern to support the HR team in driving people initiatives and building a strong foundation for our pre-opening operations. This role offers hands-on exposure across talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, training coordination, and HR administration, playing a key part in shaping the colleague experience from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment activities, including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate coordination.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating onboarding processes, ensuring new colleagues have a smooth and engaging start to their journey.
  • Maintain and update employee records, HR databases, and documentation in compliance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Provide administrative support for work pass applications, employment contracts, and other HR documentation.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating employee engagement activities, training sessions, and team-building initiatives.
  • Respond to basic employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive employee information at all times.
  • Uphold Varel Singapore, Marriott, and Tribute Portfolio brand values while maintaining professionalism and a positive colleague experience.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in hospitality HR and talent management, with a willingness to learn and contribute in a dynamic pre-opening environment.
  • Good organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong command of English with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
  • A collaborative team player who is proactive, adaptable, and eager to grow within the hospitality industry.
