Position Summary

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic partner to the retail leadership team, supporting approximately 70 stores across Singapore. This role is responsible for driving people strategies that enhance business performance, employee engagement, talent development, and operational excellence. The HRBP works closely with Head of Field, Area Managers, Store Managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure effective HR service delivery while fostering a high-performing and inclusive culture.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership

    • Partner with Retail Operations leaders to align HR strategies with business objectives.
    • Provide trusted HR advice and coaching to Head of Field, Area Managers, Store Managers on people-related matters.
    • Support workforce planning and organizational effectiveness to meet evolving business needs.
    • Analyze people metrics and trends to identify opportunities and recommend solutions.

 

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

    • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure timely recruitment for retail positions.
    • Support manpower planning and succession planning across the retail network.
    • Participate in interviews for key retail leadership positions where required.

 

Employee Relations

    • Manage employee relations issues, conducting fair and thorough investigations where necessary.
    • Advise managers on disciplinary matters, performance management, grievances, and employment legislation.
    • Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices.

 

Performance & Talent Management

    • Drive the annual performance management cycle across the retail organization.
    • Coach managers on performance conversations, goal setting, and development planning.
    • Identify high-potential employees and support talent review and succession planning initiatives.

 

Learning & Development

    • Identify capability gaps and partner with Learning & Development to implement relevant training programs.
    • Support onboarding initiatives to improve new hire integration and retention.
    • Promote leadership development and continuous learning across store teams.

 

Employee Engagement

    • Support engagement initiatives that strengthen company culture and employee experience.
    • Analyze engagement survey results and work with business leaders to develop action plans.
    • Champion diversity, inclusion, wellbeing, and recognition initiatives.

 

HR Operations & Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with Singapore employment legislation and company policies.
    • Support policy implementation, HR audits, and regulatory requirements.
    • Partner with HR Operations on employee lifecycle processes and HR systems.
    • Maintain accurate HR documentation and reporting.

 

Change Management

    • Support organizational changes including restructures, new business initiatives, and transformation projects.
    • Guide leaders through change management activities to ensure smooth implementation and employee adoption.

Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
    • 5–8 years of HR Business Partner or HR Generalist experience within retail, FMCG, hospitality, or other multi-site operations.
    • Experience supporting a geographically dispersed workforce.
    • Experience handling employee relations and performance management cases.
    • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

This role requires regular travel across Singapore to visit stores ( at least 3 days per week), build relationships with retail teams, and provide on-site HR support. The successful candidate will be a proactive, hands-on HR professional who enjoys working in a dynamic retail environment and partnering closely with operational leaders to drive business success.
