Job Summary:
Plain Meredith, a pet-friendly caf, is looking for a Chef de Partie / Kitchen Cook to join our kitchen team! This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for cooking and food preparation, ensuring high-quality dishes are consistently served. You will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, maintaining kitchen efficiency, and upholding food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation & Cooking
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to company recipes and standards.
- Ensure food is cooked and plated efficiently while maintaining high quality and consistency.
- Work on various stations (grill, saut, prep) as needed.
2. Kitchen Operations & Hygiene
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies and ingredients.
- Monitor and minimize food waste through proper storage and portioning.
3. Team Collaboration & Efficiency
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff when necessary.
Job Requirements:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in an F&B kitchen environment.
- Strong passion for cooking and food presentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and handle pressure.
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
- WSQ Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required.
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays.
