Job Overview
We are looking for a committed and experienced Homeroom Teacher for Year 2 and Year 3 to join our vibrant primary teaching team. The successful candidate will deliver the Cambridge Primary Curriculum and play a pivotal role in nurturing young learners academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Homeroom Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons in core subjects, supporting the holistic development of students, and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities Curriculum Delivery (Cambridge Primary)
- Teach core subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, Global Perspectives, Digital Literacy and art based on the Cambridge Primary Curriculum
- Incorporate cross-curricular links to develop students&apos conceptual understanding and inquiry skills
- Use the Cambridge Progression Tests and other assessment tools to monitor, evaluate, and report on student achievement
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including EAL and SEN students
- Encourage the development of key Cambridge learner attributes (e.g. confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged)
Pastoral and Classroom Management
- Serve as the main pastoral point of contact for the class, providing emotional and academic support
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
- Implement positive behavior strategies and uphold the schools values and expectations
- Monitor student well-being and refer concerns to the appropriate staff when necessary
Assessment and Reporting
- Maintain records of student progress and development using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to support learning goals
- Communicate regularly with parents via parent-teacher conferences, progress reports, and informal updates
Collaboration and Professional Growth
- Work closely with year-level and subject teams to plan units, lessons, and school events
- Contribute to the development of the Cambridge Primary curriculum within the school
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and professional development programs
- Support and participate in school events, field trips, extracurricular activities, and assemblies
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Bachelors Degree in Education or a relevant subject with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, B.Ed.)
- Minimum 23 years of full-time teaching experience, preferably in a Cambridge Primary or similar international curriculum
- Strong knowledge of the Cambridge Primary Framework, assessment practices, and progression pathways
- Experience supporting diverse learners, including students with English as an Additional Language (EAL)
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Culturally sensitive and internationally minded
- Eligible to work in Singapore or already holding a valid work pass is an advantage
Desirable Skills & Attributes
- Familiarity with the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) system
- Competency in using technology for teaching and learning, including learning management systems (LMS)
- Reflective, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement
- Warm, approachable, and enthusiastic about working with young learners
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Occasional events or training may occur outside regular hours
