Your role as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) is to provide the day-to-day operational requirements to support and deliver all facets clinical care to ensure that the patients of Osler Health International encounter a safe, consistent, and professional experience.
Responsibilities:
The following are the core responsibilities of the HCA. There may be a requirement to carry out other tasks this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.
- Provide patient care and education, including taking vital signs and dispensing medications, and performing procedures as directed by the doctors.
- Following appropriate training, to perform IV cannulation, infusions & venepuncture, correctly processing and recording the attainment of specimens.
- Coordinate patient care with other members of the healthcare team, including family physicians, nurses, and support staff.
- Attends to patient's pre & post consult enquiries.
- Administrative duties related to patient files and requests for imaging and pathology.
- Follow infection protocols and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Participate in quality initiatives as directed by the Practice Manager/ Assistant Practice Manager.
- Exercise personal duty of care in the safe use and storage of equipment.
- Participate in marketing and service-related activities as directed by the Operations Manager or Director ofOperations.
- Perform any other related patient care duties, reception and administrative duties in clinic as required.
